About Jaipur
Jaipur district
is a centre for both modern and traditional industry. Historically and
architecturally, Jaipur is one of the richest cities in India, hosting Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh
and Amber Forts, to name a few. The Sariska National Park is only a 100 kilometres from
Jaipur. The bustling capital is a full-fledged business centre with all the
conveniences of a modern metropolis but yet has an age-old allure that
intoxicates its residents and tourists.
History of Jaipur
Jaipur, the Pink City, was founded in 1728 by Maharaja
Sawai Jai Singh II. The city was built of pink stucco in imitation of
sandstone and hence the name of ‘Pink City.’ Jaipur is considered by many
to be one of the best planned cities. The town of Jaipur is built in the form of a
nine-part Mandala known as the 'Pithapada'. Jaipur is an exhilarating mix of
old and new, of traditional charm and modern living, offering its residents a
colourful and inspiring life.
